Its number 2 is Ka — Polarity - Stabilize. The mirror of dual forces. The dance between opposites that generates life. The thirteen sacred numbers cycle with the twenty day-signs to weave the 260-day Tzolk'in.
The Long Count (12.4.13.9.7) tallies the days elapsed since the Maya creation date of 11 August 3114 BCE, in units of baktun, katun, tun, uinal and kin — the same count that famously reached 13.0.0.0.0 on 21 December 2012. The Haab is the 365-day solar year of eighteen 20-day months plus five days; together, Tzolk'in and Haab lock into the 52-year Calendar Round. This is the traditional count, still kept by Maya daykeepers today.
